George Herd

George Herd (1859-1940) began working for TE Gunn in 1876 and did so for around 50 years. He was a deaf man and also quiet in character, he took great pride in his work spending hours making tiny adjustments to bird mounts. His work was probably key to the success of TE Gunn. After he retired from Gunn he worked from home and we presume that is the time that the work bearing his label was produced.
